Iranians win Asian top awards

SHANGHAI -- Iran’s football federation has been selected as the best Asian association in the AFC Annual Awards 2008 on Tuesday night in Shanghai, China.

Following Iran’s Under 16 AFC championship held in Uzbekistan in October, the federation stood on the podium.
Meanwhile, Iran’s futsal team was named as the best Asian team following an incredible performance in the 2008 Futsal World Cup held in Brazil.
Iran’s futsal skipper Vahid Shamsaee won the AFC Futsal Player of the Year Award for 2008 for a successive year as well.
